Things to Do

Marietta Square

Historic Marietta Square is the home of Stewart and Sydney, only a twenty minute drive from where the two grew up and got to know each other.

The couple are proud OTP (outside the perimeter) residents as their city is located in the northwest suburbs of Atlanta, famously navigated to by following the “Big Chicken”, a famous staple and landmark to indicate that yes, indeed, you’ve made it to Marietta.

Marietta Square is steeped in a rich and volatile history, particularly being a major hub throughout the Civil War. If you’re a history buff, we suggest visiting the Marietta History Center located right on the Square.

As far as food and drink on the Square, you can’t go wrong. Some local hotspots:

- Season- This brunch spot is a FAVORITE of Syd and Stew's. In an unassuming building just off the Square, this local hot spot is growing a fan base, so make a reservation! Try Syd's favorite, the pork belly biscuit, while you're there.

- Two Birds Tap House- Chill vibes, good food, and the best beer selection on the Square!

- Kiosco- A favorite date night spot, their favorite dish is the lamb kebab!

- Third Door- The couple hope to enjoy a cocktail there with you the night before the wedding! (more info on home page of website)

- Bottega Italian Market- authentic Italian cafeteria that's the perfect spot for lunch, try and chat with the owner, he's a hoot!

- The Australian Bakery- A favorite Saturday morning haunt of the couple's, Stew likes the "Ned Kelly" pie. Tell the owners you're here for Sydney and Stewart's wedding day- they've been counting down the days with us!

- Glover Park Brewery- if you're looking for a hot spot with good vibes to watch sports, this would be the place!

- Contrast Brewery- A newish spot on the Square. While it's a bit quiet compared to other local hot spots, they have the best locally brewed beer on the Square.

- Tuesday - Artisanal coffee spot that attracts coffee aficionados from all over town, their seasonal syrups are the best!

We encourage you to explore the night life on Friday evening (don’t get crazy, now), as many of these locations support local musicians in the area.

On Saturdays, Marietta Square is lively with folks who stop by to peruse the Marietta Square Farmer's Market and treat themselves to brunch.

If you decide to visit the market, we suggest stopping by Bernard's German Bakery stall and snagging some treats!

Marietta Square not the vibe?

Then we encourage you to explore everything Atlanta has to offer:

- Atlanta Aquarium

- The Atlanta Zoo

- Coca-Cola Museum

- The Atlanta Beltline

- The Battery (technically not in Atlanta's perimeter, but hey, now we are getting technical)

- Atlanta Botanical Gardens
